A week ago, I visited a quaint and alternative cinema with my wife. This venue typically showcases documentaries on a variety of topics, such as ‘Women in Afghanistan’, ‘Climate Change’, and ‘Refugees’. However, this time, they featured a lighter documentary titled The Golden Spurtle. This film highlights the annual porridge cooking contest in Carrbridge, Scotland, where the winner receives the prestigious ‘Golden Spurtle’. For those unfamiliar, a spurtle is a traditional Scottish kitchen utensil—a wooden stick used for stirring oatmeal porridge. The Spurtle font family includes two handmade fonts, along with their Italics, designed to complement each other while also functioning well independently.
